The 50th annual Grammy awards last night really turned out to be an unexpected treat.  Here's my grading on the performances (of what I watched).

Rihanna/Time

Rihanna singing "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop the Music" was lively.  Time with "Jungle Love" not so much.  B

The Beatles Tribute

Cirque du Soleil to the Beatles. Strange but entertaining.  B+

Kanye West

He gets mad points for the glowing glasses and digital vest.  And how cool was Daft Punk's glow-in-the dark robots coming out of their patented pyramid?  Oh and I really like "Stronger".  A

Beyonce/Tina Turner

Tina Turner??  I'll give her an "A" for effort. Beyonce saved the performance.  B-

Feist

After a night full of theatrics, a very refreshing performance.  B+

Amy Winehouse

Was she still sedated?  Maybe it was the whole via satellite thing.  C+

Carrie Underwood

Carrie can always deliver a great performance.  One question though, what was with the savages banging on those pipes?  B+
