Free dinner? Let's buy clothes.
We got an e-mail last week about the next of the many events they have in our new neighborhood. A few weeks ago it was a benefit for the Dallas Contemporary Art museum's new home in the Design District (free sushi and cocktails). Last week a tequila tasting party at our new favorite Mexican restaurant, La Condesa. This week a couple of clothing retailers put on an event in the park, so we thought we would go down and check it out on our way to dinner.
We got there and to our surprise they had enough food (and drinks) to qualify for dinner. After a few hours and one too many margaritas, we decided to just take the money we would have spent at dinner and use it to shop. After all, they had so generously provided us with full bellies and a buzz to boot.
As we walked home, we came to the realization that if they had something like this every week, we could have completely new wardrobes by the end of the month. More realistically, we were told that this will be a monthly event throughout the summer (still, no complaints here).
Side note -- the following day there was this unbelievable sale just a few stores down at my favorite store, LFT, which by the way, is the coolest store in Dallas -- but that's a whole other story.
